Matthew Sexton, LCSW — telehealth therapy for adults
Therapy for the
strong one everyone
leans on.
You can look composed and still be living at a cost. You do not need a polished explanation to find out whether this work fits.
The first conversation is for questions about fit and logistics. Keep clinical details for a secure conversation.
“You are the authority on your life. I bring training, framing, and patient curiosity.”

A place to begin
This work may fit if…
You keep functioning, but the cost stays mostly hidden.
You understand the pattern and still find yourself living inside it.
You want a therapist who responds, names patterns plainly, and can be disagreed with.
A webpage cannot diagnose you or decide what treatment you need. A first conversation can help both of us decide whether this practice is a workable place to begin.
02 / The work
What followed you
into the room?
You don’t need a diagnosis or a polished explanation to explore whether this practice fits. These are some of the patterns I work with.
Narcissistic abuse recovery
When you keep checking your own memory, needs, or right to say no.
02Burnout & moral injury
When carrying on has become the whole job.
03High-functioning anxiety
When being prepared never quite feels like being safe.
04Family & old roles
When the role you learned at home follows you everywhere.
05Complex trauma
When the past keeps taking up room in the present.
06Executive work
When everyone turns to you, and you need somewhere to turn.
07Healthcare workers & clinicians
When caring for other people does not stay at work.

03 / The person
You talk.
I talk back.
“We name what’s working and revise what isn’t, out loud, together.”
I work collaboratively, with attention to the history, relationships, and systems that shaped the patterns you’re living with. There’s space to be uncertain here.
- Collaborative
- You are the authority on your life.
- Depth-oriented
- We look beyond whatever surfaced this week.
- Boundaried
- Clear scope, an agreed pace, and room to speak plainly.
04 / The first step
Start with
a conversation.
You can ask about the work and the practical details before deciding whether to begin.
Request a fit conversationTell me what brings you here.
You don’t need to have the whole story ready. A starting point is enough.
Make the practical things clear.
We can discuss your location, appointment options, current fees, insurance, and cancellation terms.
Decide whether it feels workable.
Ask how I would approach the work. You get to decide whether to take the next step.
